In part as a result of chronic stress and its impact on the brain, students living in poverty learn best when they have trusting relationships with educators, safe environments, a sense of control, and teachers who have the time and space to attend to key emotional skills and needs.
SUCCESS COACHING SERVICES FOR SCHOOL DISTRICTS
Managing learning during the pandemic is more challenging than anything we could have imagined. Right now, districts are faced with the impossible task of serving all students in all situations: remote, in-class, or hybrid. As an administrator, here’s what may keep you up at night:
What about those kids who are working online and simply not making progress, not showing up, or falling further behind?
We support students in their educational journey, guiding them towards improving educational and life skills. We provide individual 30-minute sessions for students you identify as meeting our criteria including:
- 13-18 years old
- Disengaged, lacking in motivation, falling behind
- At-risk youth on the margins
- Others you and your teachers identify as needing extra support
Coaching Program Deliverables
SUPERVISE & TRACK
Coaches supervise and track assignments and supplement direct instruction with skill-building in crucial areas.
We help our students plan and manage their time using techniques like “chunking” scheduling, dividing time, making time for breaks and prioritizing.
This includes how to be resourceful and resilient, how to ask the right questions, where to find information and how to build their confidence to solve issues and concerns on their own – and when to ask for help.
We are growing adults, rather than just educating the youth. We work with our teens on productive, collaborative communication skills.
Our teens learn how to take responsibility for their actions, accept and celebrate accountability and how to follow-through and complete tasks including homework.
Critical thinking involves looking at challenges and problems through a variety of perspectives, analyzing one’s reaction and exploring objective analysis and evaluation.
Versus a fixed mindset, we guide our students towards a growth mindset, teaching them how to view their challenges as strengths from which they can develop “personal grit and resilience.”
MOTIVATION, GOAL SETTING
It’s normal for many teens to procrastinate and struggle with motivation – especially when it comes to a classroom or online education. We bridge their current passions to education so motivation becomes a more natural behavior.
ORGANIZATION & PLANNING
Showing up on time, being prepared and having access to resources are part of the organization and planning outcomes we achieve with our teens.
CREATING CONNECTIONS TO ENGAGE, MOTIVATE AND INSPIRE
Beautiful Minds has skilled, compassionate coaches who know how to motivate, engage, and inspire all kinds of teenagers, from middle to high-school. With parents fraught with anxiety and teachers overworked or unable to navigate this environment, districts need more support than ever.
Our coaches have the education and experience to elevate struggling students. We are highly-skilled individuals with varied backgrounds in education, athletics, and personal growth. Our coaching methodology centers on building a trusted and valued relationship between the student and a compassionate adult who, in partnership with the student, finds his/her passion, skills while the coach directs academic goal-setting in alignment with those interests.
We provide Success Coaching (available seven days a week) for students in middle and high school. These virtual sessions are 30-minutes with each student, one-on-one, with between session “check ins” via secured messaging.
IN ALIGNMENT WITH EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS
Managing learning during the pandemic is more challenging than anything we could have imagined. Districts face the impossible task of serving all students in all situations: remote, in-class, or hybrid. As an administrator, here’s what may keep you up at night: What about those kids who are working online and simply not making progress, not showing up, or falling further behind?
Beautiful Minds provides virtual Success Coaching services for the “average” or unnoticed student. The freshman, for example, who can’t organize his time and becomes discouraged (or worse, depressed) quickly; or that well-meaning senior who just hopes to slip through the cracks.
With the abrupt shift to online platforms, students disconnected quickly when schools closed and may continue to fall even further behind. If not well-managed, young people could suffer lifetime setbacks as education struggles to regain equilibrium.
Let us help you. Let us work with and reach the students who are losing ground. The coaching model is especially effective for at-risk students on the margins. If your district is focused on equity, this intervention provides targeted support for those students.
Extending your educational reach
